Vitamin C has various important effects on health. First of all, it balances free radicals to help fight cell and tissue harm. In addition, it helps the body fight infection in case of illness. Moreover, it is necessary for both the pregnant mother and infant, as it is the cementing agent. Furthermore,it is vital for tissue mending. Finally, vitamin C helps the body to form collagen that gives structure to bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels (Hareyan: 2005: 1).
